Compliance
The Chartland Electronics website has been designed to be accessible to as many people as possible whilst maintaining a high level of usability.

All of the code of this site has been W3C and CSS validated as being correctly written and has been developed to the rules and regulations set out by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) - the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and is compliant to Priorty Level 1.

Text Size
The site has been tested across a broad range of browsers. You can increase the text size of this site using your browser controls. Some of the main browsers are shown below:

  • In Internet Explorer: select View > Text size, and then your preferred size
  • In Netscape: select View > Text zoom, and then your preferred percentage size
  • In Mozilla Firefox: select Tools > Options > Content > Fonts and Colours then your chosen size
  • In Opera: select File > Preferences > Fonts > Minimum font size (pixels)
  • Other browsers may vary

If you have a mouse with a scroll wheel you can scroll the wheel of your mouse whilst holding down the control key to change the size of the text.


Navigation
This site uses a consistent navigation scheme to make it easy to move between the pages. The main sections of the site are displayed at the top of the page and sub pages are displayed on the left hand side.


Colour
To navigate this site without colour:

  • In Internet Explorer: select Tools > Internet options > Accessibility > Ignore colours specified on Web pages
  • In Netscape: select Edit > Preferences > Colors then chose "Use my chosen colours, ignoring the colours and background image specified"
  • In Mozilla Firefox: select Tools > Options > Content > Fonts & Colours > Colours > then uncheck "Allow pages to choose their own colours, instead of my selections above"
  • In Opera: select View > Style > High Contrast
